THROUGH MY LENS -Quarr Abbey

Recently while visiting the Isle of Wight (I.O.W.) I also paid a visit with the dog to Quarr Abbey.  It is home to a small group of Benedictine monks who strive to dedicate their lives to the glory of God, and whose day is characterised by prayer, work and community life.  Today I will show you the ruins of the first abbey and then the present day one.  I finished in the gardens enjoying coffee and a scone.
I will link this post with Through My Lens.

If you wish to know a lot more about Quarr Abbey CLICK HERE for their web site and also as I have posted nine times before about this abbey and you will find those posts in LABELS in the RHC of the blog under Quarr Abbey.

I will be posting all this week about Quarr Abbey

Thank you for visiting and also for leaving comments.

  2. It is a beautiful place. Your scone looks impressive as well. Apricot jam?

  3. I think they are both beautiful. And the inside is spectacular and vaulted! But is that a sword in the monks hand? Surely not. Your weeping willow scene is gorgeous!

  4. It looks like a serene environmant - the perfect place to contemplate all things spiritual, and indulge in scrumptious scones.
