SUNDAY THOUGHT and SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY

The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Proverbs 12:26

Now for Scavenger Hunt Sunday.
These are the words this week -

Favourite, Angled, Curved, Cropped, Texture.

Just before I left for Costa Rica this week, I took these shots.
ALL the photographs illustrate ALL words in different ways.

I will leave you to work it out his week.

This is a one of my own painting that I did many years ago.

I trained as a 'Royal' nurse and this limited edition ornament was commissioned by the League of Nurses and is what I looked like when I qualified.   Gillian, who also trained as a 'Royal' nurse gave me it years ago.  The locker with the water jug, towel and Bible brings back many memories for me

My neighbour gave me this lovely sun hat which I keep on top of my leather suite in my dining room so it is not ruined.

Now I hope you managed to work out
where all 5 words were in all the shots.

Of course you may have your own favourite shot,
if so let me know.

Many thanks for visiting also to all those who leave comments.

SATURDAY CRITTERS - Blue Crane in South Africa

Today I am starting my posts from when I visited friends in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2014.  They live in a lovely gated community so I was able, safely to get up early early each morning and take a walk to see what birds I could find.  There was a small lake with these Blue Cranes that they were trying the breed and I photographed them from a hide.

Although the light was not good due to it only being about 6.00 am, I also saw this Cape Robin Chat above and these Hadeda Ibis below.

I hope you are going to see another part of Africa for a while.

Many thanks for your visit and also to all those who comment while I am in Costa Rica.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS & FRIDAY'S HUNT

Just one photograph today for WF and in fact it is the last shot of these posts that I have shared with you from my 2014 trip to Malawi.  The chocolate cake is being reflected in the silver as Judith and I were taken tea at Huntingdon House.

For the Friday's Hunt prompts this week, we have the letter E, Favourtie and Sky.

While I was in Malawi this year, my family and I had a holiday in Zambia and rented the fabulous home of Jake and Gill'ys right next door to a Safari Park.  On waking the first moring we were ECSTATIC  to see two ELEPHANTS in view from our terrace.

You can take you pick of your FAVOURITE from the three shots this week.

This scene below was taken in Zambia when we were on a night drive in the Safari Park and stopped to have refreshments while we watched the SKY changing colour as the sun set over the river.

I hope you have enjoyed all the posts from Malawi 2014 (well at least some). It has been quite a mammoth task over many months to make all these posts.  Thanks to all you stuck with all the posts.  Sorry when I was away this year that I could not put them on Google + or FaceBook.

After I left my family in Malawi, I flew to Johannesburg, South Africa where I stayed with a old nursing friend and her husband and so from tomorrow, I will be showing you those posts.

Today I fly to Costa Rica so I hope you will continue to pop in and see my scheduled posts while I am away however I will not be able to comment on your posts unfortunately.

Afternoon Tea at Huntingdon House on a Tea Plantation in Malawi

It was nearly my last day with my family in Blantyre, Malawi in 2014, when my daughter Judith gave me a birthday treat, taking me to Huntingdon House for afternoon tea.  This guest house is situated within a wonderful tea plantation and below you can see some of the workers hard at work.  They only pick the top 3 leaves from the tea plant.

Tomorrow you will see Huntingdon House itself but for today we were having afternoon on the lawn which was a foot ball pitch away from the house. It was quite a long walk for the servers to bring everything over to us.

Everything was beautiful presented and tasted delicious especially the chocolate cake that was still warm.

When travelling back to Blantyre, we realised how privileged we were to be able to have this very special tea together.  Judith needed to stop at a market to get some fresh vegetables and I managed to snap a couple of shots.

SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY and THROUGH MY LENS

It is time for Scavenger Hunt Sunday and the word prompts this week are
Light, Sky, Under, Artifical Light and Space.

I photographed this LIGHT in a hotel.

This photograph of the SKY was taken while on a flight to London.

This is a Snail UNDER its shell and a hand UNDER the shell.

This is meal I photographed under ARTIFICAL LIGHT.

I love the feeling of SPACE in this photograph.

I hope you enjoyed my selection of photographs this week and I am linking this post with SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY and THROUGH MY LENS.

SUNDAY THOUGHT - Malawi

How is the soil? Is it fertile or poor?
Are there trees in it or not?

Numbers 13:20

These trees are growing out of a rock!
