EXTRA -Flamingoes

I was on the Copeland Island all weekend with no internet access so I am sorry I was not able to view any Weekend Reflections or Saturday Critters posts or to make comments.  Unfortunately, on Coplenad, the winds were very strong and we did not get any ringing done however I do hope to show you photograpphs as soon as I have them processed.

Hope you enjoyed this post.

This is a photo taken by Danny, one of my bird class members.

Many thanks Danny for giving me permission for showing the photo.

Thank you for visiting and also to those who leave comments.

  6. The flamingos are so pretty, and I love the one holding its wings outstretched so I can see the black underwings.

  7. That is a great shot! My first thought was that the one with the outstretched wings looks like he was leading the choir! And a couple of them aren't paying attention. :) Have a nice week, Margaret!

  14. There's a large colony on the Tagus Estuary right in front of Lisbon but I never managed to see just one! :-) On the other hand I've watched thousands on the Rift Lakes in Kenya. They are such wonderful birds!

  18. Very beautiful!!! I have only seen the Chilean Flamingos. And at that point, I wasn't even a birder. I hope to see them and all the others again someday in better detail. They are such unique birds.
